Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating

Most people don't realize how much easier eating can be.

We live in a culture that is constantly judging food, and it's easy to do the same thing ourselves. There is nothing wrong with wanting to eat well. The question is how much time, effort, and mental space "eating well" is taking up in your life, and what happens when you don't eat the way you think you should.

Perhaps you follow nutrition guidelines or have preferences about how you want to eat. There is nothing wrong with that. The question becomes: do those choices feel flexible and supportive, or do they create stress, anxiety, or judgment about your food — and perhaps other people's as well? Do they take up mental space you might like to devote to something else?

You can eat well without making eating a constant project.
